Meet the Crew

We’re a family of four exploring life aboard Agora, our 48’ sailboat and floating home. We believe in salty hair, slow mornings, and meaningful adventures. A cruising lifestyle is our family’s path to courage, connection, and curiosity. This blog is where we share the beauty, grit, and growth of the journey.

Barrett

The ship’s systems guy, weather checker, and numbers brain. Barrett is literally the son of a son of a sailor who also manages the boat projects, engine room and satellite internet like a magician. When he’s not debugging data or rigging sails, he’s teaching the twins how things work and where to look for sea life.

Susanna

A lifelong wordsmith, Susanna handles the storytelling, galley provisioning and endless sunscreen reminders. With a background in journalism, education leadership and nonprofit communications, she now works from the boat as a project manager and copywriter crafting words to make people feel connected.

The Littlest Crew Members

Our twin boys are growing up in a world of charts, tides and treasure hunts. Curious, energetic and wildly observant, they’re our constant reminder to stay playful and present.

We’ve chosen not to share their faces or names on public platforms to preserve their privacy and autonomy as they grow. We hope you’ll still see glimpses of their joy – just framed through a lens that protects their space in this chapter of their stories.

If you’re a fellow sailing parent or homeschooler or just want to connect more personally, we’re always happy to talk – just send us a message.

Why Agora, Why Now

Named after the Greek word for gathering place and the site of the coffeeshop where we had our first date, Agora is our family’s invitation to live with less and see more. Whether you’re a sailor, dreamer, or somewhere in between – thank you for following along!
